Big Sand Creek in Decatur and Jennings Counties is a beautiful tributary of the East Fork White River that traverses a limestone canyon for a portion of its course in Decatur County. 

Pathfinder Outfitters runs Sand Creek from March to mid July each year.  After that runnable flows diminish.  We are the only outfitter running Big Sand Creek. 

We run 4 stretches of Big Sand Creek starting from upstream:

  1. The Limestone Canyon Section – Robbins Iron Bridge Park (Co. Rd. South, S of Greensburg) to Westport Covered Bridge (Co. Rd. 1100 South): 10.6 Miles, 5 hours.
  2. Westport Covered Bridge to Brewersville: 12 miles, 6 hours.
  3. Brewersville to Scipio Covered Bridge 10.4 miles, 5 hours.
  4. Scipio Covered Bridge, into the EF White River and take out at Rockford: 22 miles, 10 hours.
